A shooting occurred at Oklahoma State University in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to local authorities. The incident took place at a residential hall on campus, where multiple individuals were injured and transported to hospitals in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
OSU Police Chief Michael Beckner confirmed that at least one victim was an OSU student. He stated that officers responded to reports of gunfire around 3:40 a.m. at Carreker East residential hall. While no ongoing threat to the public was identified, police emphasized that all victims were in stable condition as of Sunday afternoon.
Beckner detailed how campus officers first learned of the shooting after hearing a radio call about a gunshot victim at a McDonald’s several miles from the college. They arrived at the location and provided medical assistance before being alerted to gunfire near the residential halls. Upon reaching the scene, officers encountered individuals fleeing in vehicles and stopped several at gunpoint. No victims were found at the site when they arrived.
Further investigation revealed that three individuals had been hospitalized, with one reportedly dropped off at Stillwater Medical Center and another at Tulsa Medical Center. Authorities urged anyone with information to contact OSU Police Department.
