At least three individuals lost their lives and two others were hospitalized following a devastating multi-vehicle collision on a California highway. The incident occurred Tuesday at approximately 1 p.m. on the westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway near Ontario, just east of the 15 Freeway.

The crash involved up to eight vehicles, including four semi-trucks, according to reports. Dashcam footage captured a semi-truck colliding with the rear of an SUV and then striking other vehicles. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials confirmed the arrest of the 21-year-old driver of the semi-truck on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

The crash resulted in the closure of all westbound lanes of the 10 Freeway, except for FasTrak, causing significant traffic delays in the Inland Empire. The driver of the Freightliner tractor-trailer involved in the collision was identified as Jashanpreet Singh from Yuba City. He was taken into custody for driving under the influence of drugs and vehicular manslaughter.

Authorities confirmed that one victim has been identified as a 54-year-old man from Upland, while the other two casualties remain unnamed due to severe injuries. The incident has left families devastated, with officials describing the scene as deeply troubling.
