President Trump on Tuesday endorsed video game composer Marty O’Donnell in the race to represent Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District.
The district, a battleground state with one of the nation’s most competitive House seats, has become critical for Republicans seeking to maintain their razor-thin majority. With every seat pivotal for the GOP, the endorsement carries significant weight.
In his Truth Social post, Trump labeled Democratic incumbent Rep. Susie Lee a “true Radical Left Extremist” who promotes policies he described as contrary to Southern Nevada values. He stated that Lee advocates open borders, women’s sports participation, transgender inclusion for all, defunding police, and efforts to undermine the Second Amendment. Additionally, Trump claimed Lee voted against what he called the “Biggest Tax Cut in History” (which includes no tax on tips) and fought to eliminate rural healthcare—a key issue in Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District.
Trump praised O’Donnell as a “World-Class Composer and Entrepreneur” who champions American First policies. He described O’Donnell as committed to creating great jobs, cutting taxes and regulations, promoting no tax on tips, advancing made-in-the-U.S.A., and supporting the nation’s “Golden Age.” According to Trump, O’Donnell would work to “Unleash American Energy DOMINANCE,” secure the border, stop migrant crime, ensure law and order, strengthen military and veterans, and protect the Second Amendment.
O’Donnell previously sought the Republican nomination in 2024 but did not advance to the general election. He is best known as the co-composer for Bungie’s Halo video game series and other titles such as Destiny. O’Donnell stated he would withdraw from the race if Trump did not endorse him, a condition that has now been met.
In recent days, Rep. Lee made headlines after deleting a social media post containing profanity directed at President Trump following his appearance at Supreme Court oral arguments. The deleted message read: “So fing fed up. I’ll pray they f him to his face.” She later added, “Sorry, I say f a lot these days.”
O’Donnell will attend Trump’s event in Las Vegas this week but will not participate in the formal programming. He still must win the primary to challenge Lee in Nevada’s most competitive battleground district.
