White House border czar Tom Homan stated he did not require advance notice or a scheduled tour to assess conditions at the Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark. During a surprise visit over the weekend, Homan entered the cafeteria and ate the same meal served to detainees.
This revelation directly contradicts claims by activists and elected Democrats who have described the facility as a “dungeon” for weeks.
Rapid Response 47 shared a video clip of Homan’s visit, which he used to challenge the Delaney Hall narrative. The Department of Homeland Security has also been actively countering misinformation about the facility through official posts.
The point is clear: the man running the operation is willing to eat the food and stand in the room—unlike activists and elected Democrats who have built campaigns on unverified claims.
Congressman Jeff Van Drew further verified these conditions after touring Delaney Hall himself, noting the presence of on-site doctors, nurses, dentists, a law library, regular library, gym, and soccer field. Meals are also prepared to accommodate allergies, kosher requirements, religious needs, and medical restrictions.
Van Drew stated: “Let’s stop pretending this is about conditions.”
The administration has maintained that when a facility offers such amenities, the debate shifts from detainee treatment to whether law enforcement should be applied at all.
President Trump’s administration has consistently supported the position that illegal aliens entering the United States without authorization must face consequences. Homan, as White House border czar, has been the public face of this effort.
The Department of Homeland Security released multiple official statements clarifying conditions at Delaney Hall:
– There is no hunger strike.
– Detainees receive three meals daily, clean water, clothing, bedding, showers, soap, toiletries, and opportunities to communicate with family members and lawyers.
– Comprehensive healthcare is provided—many illegal aliens report this as the best medical care they have received in their lives.
– All detainees receive full due process and comprehensive medical care.
– The facility’s menu includes a wide range of options such as fajitas, burritos, jambalaya, fruit, vegetables, salads, brownies, and cake.
The administration noted that sanctuary politicians continue to promote hoaxes about ICE detention facilities. They emphasized: “We will keep working to get criminal illegal aliens out of our country.”
For all the noise surrounding Delaney Hall, Homan’s surprise visit put the question back where it belongs: facts first, politics second.
