Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene joined Tucker Carlson in announcing she has abandoned the Republican Party, declaring, “Tucker is not the only one who is done supporting the Republican Party. There is A LOT of us that are absolutely fed up and will not support a party that betrays its voters and country.”
Greene stated she is “DONE with the America LAST Republican Party,” emphasizing that her decision does not mean shifting to the Democratic Party. Both figures have criticized President Trump’s foreign policy regarding Iran, accusing the White House of prioritizing Israel’s interests over campaign promises to put America first.
Carlson argued that the unpopularity of the ongoing conflict among American voters should serve as a wake-up call for Republicans, asserting the administration’s aggressive foreign policy alienates loyal supporters like himself. A CBS poll revealed 69 percent of Americans believe the war’s costs have overshadowed its purpose, with over half stating it has created more problems than solutions.
White House spokesman Davis Ingle previously defended President Trump’s stance, claiming the administration acts “on the best interest of the American people,” not shifting decisions based on polls or commentators. Carlson reiterated his refusal to support any political party that prioritizes foreign interests over U.S. citizens, stating: “I’ve been a consistent defender for 35 years of the Republican Party… But there’s no defending this because it’s immoral.”
Greene, who resigned from the U.S. House of Representatives in November after citing Trump’s withdrawal of campaign support, has since conducted what she calls a “revenge tour” against the former president. She previously described her decision as motivated by Trump pulling his backing for her reelection, highlighting her advocacy for Epstein file releases and opposition to artificial intelligence provisions in Trump’s legislation. On June 22, Greene explicitly aligned herself with Carlson in cutting ties with the Republican Party, declaring she now stands with him in rejecting the party’s direction.
