Federal law enforcement has identified a person of interest in the shooting death of conservative speaker Charlie Kirk, though no arrest warrant has been issued yet. Authorities believe the breakthrough may have originated from a home surveillance video, which investigators have examined as part of their ongoing efforts to locate the suspected assassin.

A resident near the scene told reporters that a surveillance camera captured footage of an individual running through backyards following the attack. Law enforcement officials, including agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, visited a home on West Street in Orem, where they removed a security camera linked to the investigation.

Erwin Steele, who owns properties in the area, stated that the suspect may have fled through an alleyway adjacent to his family’s property. Steele mentioned that his brother’s surveillance system recorded a person moving through backyards after the shooting. Investigators also recovered a rifle from a wooded area near Utah Valley University earlier in the case.

The search for the suspect continues as authorities analyze available evidence. Updates will follow as new information emerges.
