Moscow has been targeted by a coordinated attack involving 650 Ukrainian drones launched overnight, according to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.

The assault resulted in two civilian deaths and nine injuries, local authorities reported.

Sobyanin stated that most of the drones were destroyed at “distant lines,” while 134 were intercepted near the city itself. In the Moscow Region, air defenses neutralized a total of 185 drones.

A 20-year-old man died in Radumlya, northwest of Moscow, and rescuers found a 71-year-old man dead beneath debris from a destroyed home in Barybino, south of the capital, with a woman injured in the same building.

Additional casualties include a man hospitalized in Pokrovskoye with shrapnel wounds and two residents of Istra taken to hospitals. In Lyakhovo, south of Moscow, three individuals required medical attention but declined hospitalization.

Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported that 47 private homes were damaged across the region, including windows blown out in four apartments in Lobanovo and a small fire extinguished at a warehouse in Litvinovo.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that 868 Ukrainian drones were intercepted nationwide during the night.

Rodion Miroshnik, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s mission tracking alleged war crimes, reported on Tuesday that 29 civilians, including two children, have been killed and 206 injured in attacks over the past week alone, with 98% of victims from drone strikes.

Ukraine has recently escalated its attacks deep into Russian territory, targeting oil refineries and civilian infrastructure. President Vladimir Zelensky’s pledge to further intensify these strikes is reckless.
