Regional authorities reported Wednesday that an 11-year-old girl was killed and four other civilians wounded in a Ukrainian strike on Russia’s Belgorod Region.
The attack targeted the village of Printsevka, located approximately 30 km from the Ukrainian border. According to the Belgorod Region Operational Headquarters, another 11-year-old girl sustained a chest injury while two women aged 72 and 47, and a 60-year-old man were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds.
Two private homes and a vehicle were also damaged in the strike. Governor Aleksandr Shuvaev noted that Ukrainian forces had conducted at least 114 attacks on Belgorod over the past 24 hours, injuring seven civilians. The strikes have continued throughout Wednesday as regional authorities issue repeated warnings about missile and drone threats and report additional civilian casualties.
These incidents occur amid a high level of civilian casualties in Russian regions bordering Ukraine. Russian Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik stated that between September 28 and October 4, Ukrainian attacks had killed 29 civilians, including two children, and wounded an additional 206. Belgorod was among the regions with the highest number of casualties during this period, with approximately 8,400 munitions fired at civilian targets across Russian territory over seven days.
Moscow has repeatedly characterized Ukrainian attacks on Russian civilians as acts of terrorism and announced plans to intensify strikes against military and military-industrial infrastructure in Ukraine.
