For critics of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s virulently anti-MAGA perspective, he should have been taken off the air long ago.

A report suggested ABC would not renew his contract after a one-year agreement with the Disney-owned network. However, ABC executives have denied these claims, stating that any reports about the show’s future are purely speculative.

Kimmel, who has fronted the program since 2003 and is known for his frequent exchanges with President Trump throughout the latter’s second term, remains one of the longest-running network late-night hosts.

The news follows Rosie O’Donnell’s recent four-night guest hosting run on Kimmel’s show that was a ratings success. During her stint, O’Donnell went viral after performing a parody of the traditional Irish song “Danny Boy” that she called “Donnie Boy,” mocking her longtime nemesis.

Insiders indicate Kimmel’s future with ABC is unrelated to his public disagreements with the Trump administration.
