Sources confirm Alex Pretti experienced a physical confrontation with federal immigration officers just one week prior to his fatal shooting in Minneapolis. During the incident, Pretti stopped his vehicle after observing federal agents pursuing what he described as a family on foot and began shouting while blowing his whistle.

According to multiple sources, five ICE agents tackled Pretti, with one agent applying pressure to his back during the altercation. This resulted in Pretti sustaining a broken rib, which he later reported would have been life-threatening at the time—quoting that he thought, “That day, he was going to die.” Federal medical records indicate Preti received treatment consistent with managing a fractured rib.

It remains unclear whether the agents involved recognized Preti’s identity during the confrontation. However, reports reveal federal immigration officials have been collecting personal information from protesters and agitators amid concerns over repeated threats directed at officers conducting immigration enforcement operations.

The Department of Homeland Security recently introduced an online reporting mechanism for individuals to submit details about alleged harassment of ICE personnel. White House Border Czar Tom Homan has also indicated plans to establish a database tracking arrests related to impeding law enforcement, though current Department of Homeland Security statements clarify such a system does not yet exist.
