Democrats on the US House Oversight Committee have released an alleged birthday letter purportedly written by former President Donald Trump for Jeffrey Epstein, sparking renewed controversy. The document, initially reported by the Wall Street Journal last month, features a cryptic exchange between Trump and Epstein, including phrases like “Enigmas never age” and “may every day be a wonderful secret.”

Trump has categorically denied authorship of the letter, calling it false and announcing a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal. The letter was part of a 2003 album compiled for Epstein’s birthday, which also included a drawing of a curvaceous woman. Trump’s legal team has emphasized that the signature on the document does not match his known handwriting.

The White House did not immediately comment on the release, but Deputy Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich shared images of Trump’s signature on social media, accusing the Journal of defamation. Conservatives quickly highlighted discrepancies in the signature, further fueling skepticism about the letter’s authenticity. The documents were obtained from Epstein’s estate as part of ongoing investigations into his alleged crimes.
