FBI Director Kash Patel disclosed that DNA evidence linking Tyler Robinson to the scene of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has been confirmed. The results, obtained from a towel and rifle found in woods near Utah Valley University, match the suspect.
Patel revealed during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” that the suspect’s DNA was detected on a screwdriver and a towel wrapped around the firearm used in the shooting. Authorities stated Robinson fled the campus after the attack, discarding the weapon in the woods before being apprehended. He is currently under “special watch” in Utah and has not cooperated with investigators.
Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino emphasized transparency in the investigation, noting that Robinson’s alleged motive appeared tied to political ideology. Family members described the suspect as having become increasingly politicized, with digital footprints suggesting an obsession with Kirk, a prominent conservative figure. Bongino stated the attack was “clearly an ideologically motivated” act.
