Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (D) recently stated on CNN that President Donald Trump is “continually suffering from dementia,” following remarks the governor claimed indicated the president’s impaired judgment. During the interview, anchor Kaitlan Collins questioned Pritzker about Trump’s recent assertions that communism poses a greater threat to the United States than both world wars and the September 11, 2001, attacks.

Pritzker characterized Trump’s statements as evidence of cognitive decline, noting the president has “threatened to jail the mayor of Chicago, the governor of Illinois” and “regularly threatened to go after people,” citing his use of the Department of Justice against individuals. He added that Trump “comes up with concepts in his head, and he blurts them out without really thinking.”

White House spokesperson Davis Ingle condemned Pritzker’s remarks, calling him “a slob and an incompetent governor who pushes blatantly false narratives like this in a desperate attempt to stay relevant.” The administration also defended President Trump’s health, stating the president “remains exceptional” and contrasting his transparency with past administrations.
