Co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Joy Behar on ABC’s The View have sharply questioned former first lady Jill Biden’s recent assertions about former President Joe Biden’s condition during his 2024 presidential debate. Hostin expressed disappointment that Biden’s wife “never saw signs of decline” in her husband, stating: “I can’t imagine that the Joe Biden leading up to that debate, she had not seen him.” Behar pressed whether Jill Biden should have privately urged her husband against seeking a second term, to which Hostin replied: “She should have told him, ‘Joe, do you really think you should run again?’”

The criticism follows widespread backlash over Biden’s remarks about his health. Charlamagne Tha God awarded Jill Biden the Breakfast Club’s “Donkey of the Day” label after accusing her of lying to the public about Biden’s condition during the election. Meanwhile, former White House press secretary Michael LaRosa condemned officials for shielding President Biden from public view amid reports that Jill Biden believed her husband may have experienced a stroke during the debate.

Jill Biden also faced scrutiny in a recent CBS News interview with Rita Braver, where she described Biden’s cancer diagnosis as “shocking.” She cited medical guidelines to explain why White House physicians might not have detected the condition earlier, stating: “According to the American Urological Association, men over 70 don’t need PSA testing anymore because it’s a slow-growing cancer.” Critics argue her comments downplay the gravity of Biden’s health situation during his presidency.
