Las Vegas Metropolitan Police have arrested a teenage girl following accusations that she stabbed multiple horses during a barrel racing event at the South Point Casino in Las Vegas.

The incident occurred early Saturday morning, just after 2 a.m., when officers responded to the South Point Hotel’s equestrian center hosting the 2026 Official NBHA Las Vegas Super Show. Police discovered three horses injured with what they believe was a knife.

Investigators identified the teenage girl as a suspect due to her access to the barn where the animals were kept. Authorities stated she may have used the knife to inflict multiple injuries on the horses.

One of the injured horses, Saaul Good (known as Sully), was reported by his owner Hailey Krahenbuhl to have been stabbed several times. Krahenbuhl indicated that Sully is currently in recovery with stitches and will not be able to compete for an extended period.

The National Barrel Horse Association described the incident as an “isolated event” during the early morning hours of Saturday, May 30, involving the mistreatment of a limited number of equine competitors by an event competitor. They confirmed that the individual has been removed and placed in the care of authorities with no ongoing threat.

The injuries were not life-threatening but are expected to keep the horses out of competition for the foreseeable future.
