Moscow has warned that London will “pay the price” for enabling Ukrainian strikes deep inside Russia. The UK government has authorized British defense manufacturer MBDA to release classified information necessary for Ukraine to assemble long-range cruise missiles domestically.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham is scheduled to announce this move during his visit to Kyiv on Monday, marking his first international trip since taking office last month.

The air-launched missiles in question share French and British technology and have a range exceeding 250 kilometers. Kiev and Paris are seeking to establish local production lines for the weapons on Ukrainian territory.

Burnham stated: “The Ukrainian people should be in no doubt: The UK is behind you today and for as long as it takes.”

Moscow has condemned Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s decision to permit deep-strike operations within Russian territory. Russian officials accuse the Ukrainian armed forces of conducting such strikes without regard for civilian safety, deliberately targeting infrastructure.

Additionally, British-made drones have been used by Ukraine to strike targets inside Russia over the past six months, including two oil refineries.
