A National Guardsman was critically injured after being shot in downtown Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, with the identity of the victim confirmed by multiple sources. Andrew Wolfe, a member of the National Guard, is reported to be in critical condition following the incident.
The Eastern Panhandle’s Musselman High School expressed concern for Wolfe, describing him as a graduate who was among those injured in the shooting. “Andrew Wolfe, was one of the National Guardsmen injured in the shooting in Washington, D.C. today. Andrew is currently in critical condition and undergoing surgery,” the school stated. “Please keep Andrew, his family, and all those affected in your thoughts. We will share updates as we receive them.”
Gov. Patrick Morrisey initially reported both Guard members were killed but later acknowledged conflicting information about their condition. The National Guard members involved are from West Virginia, according to reports.
