Rep. Jim Jordan revealed that his phone records were seized as part of the Biden DOJ’s investigation, with details about the subpoena for Verizon records spanning two-and-a-half years from Jan 2020. The subpoena was issued during the Arctic Frost probe, which is part of the investigation leading to Jack Smith’s charges against Trump. The records include toll records (call details) but not messages. The subpoena was issued during a time when Jordan was serving as the top Republican on the Judiciary Committee, which conducts oversight of the DOJ. The request pre-dated Jack Smith’s time at the DOJ. The subpoena sought records for three other phone numbers, which were redacted. It included a one-year gag order signed by a D.C. magistrate judge. Rep. Jordan shared the receipts on X, stating that they spied on him for two and a half years, all the way back to January 2020. This is the epitome of the weaponization of government against the other party. Something should really be done about this — and not just letting the Republicans who were spied on sue the government for $500K+ in taxpayer money! I’m talking real accountability against the Biden DOJ and Jack Smith. On another note, it’s little ironic to hear so many Congressmen complaining about this when the government has been doing the same thing to all of us for over a decade. Remember the patriot act where congress told us we needed to give up some freedoms to keep us safe. Now congress doesn’t like it when it’s done to them … meh.
