The sister of a former New York Giants player says her brother has been missing for about seven months and is pleading for help locating him.
Sam Beal, who played defensive back in the NFL, was last seen on July 13, 2025.
Authorities say he dropped off his girlfriend at her family’s house and headed toward Virginia Beach before going missing.
Essence Zhane, Beal’s sister, posted a message online asking anyone who may have seen him to contact the Kentwood Police Department in Virginia.
“Tomorrow makes it seven months since we’ve last heard from or seen my brother,” she wrote.
“We’ve done everything we could on our end to piece things together and at this point we’re in desperate need of support on all ends. I’m not here to answer a bunch of why’s and how’s—I just need this to land in the right direction to gain some form of answers or closure,” she continued.
“I’m a big sister and I need my brother to know that we love you and miss you, and this has been a heavy feeling for months to carry around,” she added.
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System database indicates Beal’s last contact was on July 13, 2025. He is missing from Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Beal, described as having black hair with a muscular and athletic build and brown eyes, did not bring anything with him aside from the clothes he was wearing, a pair of slides, and his wallet containing his banking card and driver’s license.
His girlfriend was the last person to see him. She said he dropped her off at her family home and was supposed to head to work but instead headed toward Virginia Beach. He told her he was going back home before disappearing.
Beal is a Michigan native who played college football at Western Michigan for three seasons before being selected by the New York Giants in the 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft. He started three games during his rookie season in 2019 and tallied 27 tackles and one safety over two seasons.
The girlfriend’s car was later recovered near Virginia Beach with Beal’s shoes and socks on the front passenger seat.
