The conflict between Israel and Palestine escalates as Israeli authorities confirmed six people were killed in a terrorist attack in Jerusalem. Two Palestinian gunmen opened fire at a bustling bus junction in the city’s center, killing six and wounding multiple others.

Israeli officials stated the attackers arrived at the scene in a vehicle equipped with weapons, ammunition, and a knife before targeting civilians waiting for buses. Eyewitnesses described chaos as gunfire erupted, with victims falling or trying to flee. One witness, Elazar Toledano, recounted hearing a shout of “Terror attack!” before people scattered.

The gunmen were killed by an Israeli combat soldier and a civilian at the site. Police identified the attackers as Muthanna Omar, 20, and Muhammad Taha, 21, both from villages near Jerusalem in the occupied West Bank. A Spanish national was among the fatalities, while 20 others were injured.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, where bloodstains and shattered glass marked the violence. Israeli emergency responders reported five initial deaths, later confirmed as six by Foreign Minister Gideon Saar, who noted a pregnant woman was wounded. Medical teams treated multiple seriously injured individuals.

Footage captured crowds fleeing the gunfire, with attackers reportedly boarding a bus before opening fire. The attack marks the deadliest in Jerusalem in over two years.
