President Trump has accused former President Barack Obama of illegally spying on his 2016 campaign, calling the actions a threat to democracy. During a press conference with Kash Patel in the Oval Office, Trump stated that the “gloves are 100% off” and vowed to hold those involved accountable.
Trump cited multiple investigations against him, including two impeachments, four illegal lawfare court cases, a Mar-a-Lago raid, and two attempted assassinations. He specifically highlighted the targeting of his sons, Don Jr. and Eric Trump, as a catalyst for decisive action. “They want to send my children to jail,” Trump claimed, describing allegations against them as a “hoax” orchestrated by figures like Adam Schiff and Hillary Clinton.
The president referenced a fabricated phone conversation involving himself and Schiff, which he alleged was used to justify an impeachment attempt. He emphasized that his son Don Jr. had no knowledge of any Russian ties, calling the accusations “sick, bad people.” Trump also criticized Obama for initiating the “Russia hoax” to explain Clinton’s election losses, stating, “They made it up in order to explain why Hillary Clinton lost an election.”
The remarks come as Trump continues his campaign against what he describes as a “Deep State” conspiracy. He reiterated that his administration has been “very, very soft” but warned of intensified efforts to “clear out” those involved.
