President Donald Trump has threatened to report NBC News anchor Kristen Welker to the Federal Communications Commission after she described his endorsed candidates as having “mixed results” in recent elections.

The president cited a record of 100% success for Senator Darline Graham and 98% for Representative Mike Mazzei as evidence of strong performance by Trump-endorsed candidates. Welker made the remark during a live preview appearance on NBC4 Washington earlier this week, not during Sunday’s “Meet the Press” broadcast.

NBC News defended Welker, stating she is one of the best in the business and that they stand by her work.
