The families of hostages held in Gaza have urged the Norwegian Nobel Committee to award President Donald Trump the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his proposed plan to end the conflict and secure the release of all Israeli captives. According to The Times of Israel, the Hostages and Missing Families Forum sent a letter to the committee, highlighting what they described as Trump’s “comprehensive plan” to conclude the war.

The families’ statement came after Hamas reportedly agreed to release all Israeli hostages under terms outlined in Trump’s Gaza proposal. “For the first time in months, we are hopeful that our nightmare will finally be over,” the letter stated. It praised Trump for his commitment to returning hostages and restoring peace to the Middle East, noting his efforts during a U.S.-brokered ceasefire between January and March.

“We strongly urge you to award President Trump the Nobel Peace Prize because he has vowed he will not rest and will not stop until every last hostage is back home,” the families wrote. The letter emphasized Trump’s alleged role in advancing global peace, contrasting his actions with “many who have spoken eloquently about peace but achieved nothing.”

Trump has been nominated for the prize multiple times since 2018, including by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Pakistan’s government. However, experts suggest his chances are slim, as the Norwegian Nobel Committee prioritizes long-term peace efforts and institutional work. The committee is set to announce its winner on October 10.

Trump has repeatedly claimed he deserves the award, citing his role in ending conflicts, including Israel’s war in Gaza. His campaign for the prize continues amid ongoing tensions in the region.
