A 3D model of a massive triumphal arch, resembling the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, was spotted on President Trump’s Oval Office desk during a recent press conference. The design, which features a winged golden angel and white eagles, has fueled speculation about potential plans for a monument to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary.

The model, observed by AFP White House Correspondent Danny Kemp, depicts the arch positioned near Arlington Cemetery across the Potomac River from the Lincoln Memorial. A second larger version of the design also appeared on Trump’s desk, showcasing intricate details. The concept has drawn comparisons to historical triumphal arches in Rome and Paris, which traditionally marked significant achievements.

While no official announcements have been made, the idea aligns with discussions about celebrating the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence. A September post on the “Donald Trump for President” Facebook page featured a nearly identical design linked to the event. Earlier this year, an architect’s proposal for a similar structure gained traction online, and a City Journal op-ed advocated for a triumphal arch in Washington as a symbolic addition to the city’s landscape.

The article notes that temporary arches have historical precedents in the U.S., such as the Washington Arch in Manhattan, which was later rebuilt permanently after public acclaim. However, the White House has not commented on the current plans.
