Former President Joe Biden has started a new phase of radiation treatment for his prostate cancer, according to a spokesperson. Biden was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in May and is also undergoing hormone therapy. The radiation treatment, which will last five weeks, follows earlier hormone medication administered in pill form.
Biden recently underwent surgery for skin cancer, including Mohs surgery, a procedure that removes layers of skin to eliminate cancerous cells. Images from late August showed him with a visible head wound, prompting public concern.
The former president shared a message on social media after his diagnosis, stating, “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”
Medical experts noted that Biden’s cancer may have gone undiagnosed for years due to its advanced stage. His health updates continue to draw public attention as he navigates treatment.
