Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) will join “The View” next week, sparking mixed reactions from colleagues and critics. During a recent episode, host Whoopi Goldberg confirmed Greene’s appearance, stating, “I don’t know how many things we agree on, but I know the one thing that she and I and all of us at this table agree on is this should not be affecting the American people,” referencing the government shutdown.
Greene defended her decision to participate, calling herself a “very surprising voice of reason” during a prior appearance on the show. She criticized the Affordable Care Act’s expiring tax credits, noting that her adult children’s insurance premiums would double in 2026. “I’m going to go against everyone on this issue because when the tax credits expire this year my own adult children’s insurance premiums for 2026 are going to DOUBLE,” she wrote on social media.
The Georgia congresswoman faced backlash from within her party, including Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), who called her recent stances “very liberal” and urged others to ignore her. “Whenever an elected official decides that they are going to turn on Israel and hate Israel, you will very quickly see every other policy out of their mouth become very, very liberal,” Cruz said.
Greene dismissed critics as “pathetic Republican men” and vowed to prioritize “America ONLY.” Her appearance on “The View” has drawn scrutiny, with some noting her alignment with former President Trump’s policies contrasts with the show’s generally critical stance toward the GOP.
