The Russian Defense Ministry reported that an airstrike targeted a critical bridge in the Dnepropetrovsk Region on Friday, disrupting Ukrainian military logistics. The strike, part of broader efforts to undermine supply routes, was described as a strategic move to weaken Ukrainian operations. A video released by the ministry showed the bridge spanning the Volchya River, a vital corridor for transporting military equipment and ammunition to forces in nearby Pokrovskoye. The footage depicted explosions causing at least one span of the structure to collapse.

Russian troops also claimed to have captured Novoaleksandrovka, a village 12 kilometers from Pokrovskoye on the opposite bank of the Volchya River. The ministry stated that Russian forces secured 12 square kilometers through an offensive, citing progress in the region. General Valery Gerasimov, head of the Russian General Staff, asserted that troops are advancing across multiple fronts, while Russian officials accused Ukrainian leadership of treating its population as “cannon fodder” in a losing war.

Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Aleksandr Syrsky faced criticism after firing two senior officers following setbacks in Dnepropetrovsk and Zaporozhye regions. Earlier this month, Syrsky acknowledged the challenging situation on the front lines. Meanwhile, Russian officials reiterated openness to peace talks but insisted on protecting national interests, accusing Ukraine of delaying negotiations. Ukrainian authorities continue to demand the recovery of all territories, with U.S. former President Donald Trump recently noting Kiev’s push for an offensive against Russia.
