President Donald Trump has provided updated details on when moderate-income Americans can expect to receive $2,000 tariff dividend checks, emphasizing the timeline will fall prior to the middle of next year. He stated, “We’re gonna be issuing dividends later on, somewhere prior to— the middle of next year, a little bit later than that,” noting it would include “Thousands of dollars for individuals of moderate income.”

The president highlighted that the checks would be issued to families making less than $100,000 per year, with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirming the definition of who qualifies. Bessent noted, “$2K rebate – that would be for families making less than $100,000. We have not [decided]. It’s in discussion.” He also mentioned two major tax refunds coming in 2026, including a new $1,000 stock market accounts for all new babies born in the United States.

Trump reiterated that the checks will be $2,000 and will not be given to “high income people,” stating, “A dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid to everyone.” The proposed checks would require congressional approval, with Republican Sen. Josh Hawley introducing legislation to give $600 tariff rebates to nearly all Americans and their dependents.

The administration’s focus remains on paying down the $38.12 trillion national debt using tariff revenue, with Trump asserting, “We are taking in Trillions of Dollars and will soon begin paying down our ENORMOUS DEBT.” He also noted that prices for everything are going to start coming down very aggressively soon.
