Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem issued a warning to foreigners traveling to the United States for the World Cup next summer. You’re welcome to come here and enjoy the sporting event, but don’t try to illegally overstay your visa! Noem promised that anyone coming here on a tourist visa for the World Cup will be thoroughly vetted and that the DHS will ensure they go back to their countries a timely manner. The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted in sixteen cities across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, 2026. In case you’re wondering, around 6 million foreign travelers are expected to come to the U.S. for the event!
