President Trump recently swapped his trademark Red MAGA ball cap for a white cowboy hat, though he indicated the change would not be permanent.

The President received a custom replica of the hat worn by the 1980 U.S. Olympic ice hockey team—the “Miracle on Ice” squad—that competed in Lake Placid. The hat was presented to him by Mike Eruzione, a former team member and advocate for the sport.

During the exchange, Eruzione stated: “Mr. President, on behalf of the team, we have a replica—wow—we wore in the opening ceremonies in Lake Placid. Thank you. I’d like you to have that.”

Eruzione also added: “And more importantly, I don’t think words can explain how proud we are for what you’ve done for our team.”

Trump promptly took off the hat, noting he knew instinctively when to remove it.
