President Trump delivered a direct appeal to Israeli leadership during the G7 Summit in France, urging restraint in military operations against Lebanese targets without undermining the U.S.-Israel alliance.

In his remarks to reporters, Trump emphasized that Israel does not need to demolish apartment buildings every time it seeks an individual, as many residents are not affiliated with Hezbollah. “You don’t have to knock down an apartment house every time you’re looking for somebody,” he stated. “Because there are a lot of people in those apartment houses. And they’re not all Hezbollah.”

The president also reaffirmed the critical role of U.S. support in Israel’s survival, declaring: “Without the United States, and without me, there would be no Israel.” Additionally, Trump expressed confidence that an ongoing Iran peace initiative could withstand Israeli military actions in Lebanon.

Trump acknowledged the strong relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu but stressed the need for greater accountability regarding Lebanon. He stated, “Bibi has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon.”
