A father has revealed why he surrendered a home run baseball he had just retrieved for his son to an aggressive fan during a Philadelphia Phillies game. Drew Feltwell described the incident as a moment of tension that escalated when a woman confronted him over the ball.
Feltwell, who was celebrating his son Lincoln’s 10th birthday at the game, said he grabbed the baseball hit by Phillies player Harrison Bader from the seats in left field. As he walked back to his family to give the ball to Lincoln, the woman approached him and demanded it back, shouting loudly.
“She yelled in my ear, ‘That’s my ball!’ like super loud,” Feltwell said. He claimed he did not want to worsen the situation and handed over the ball to avoid further conflict. The incident drew attention from other spectators, with some sharing the story on social media.
Staff at the game later provided Lincoln with a goodie bag, though Feltwell’s account focused on his decision to comply with the woman’s demands rather than the resolution.
