FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed on Sunday that the bureau is conducting a comprehensive investigation into the assassination of Charlie Kirk, emphasizing its commitment to pursuing all potential leads. In a detailed post on X, Patel outlined the agency’s focus on multiple theories surrounding the incident, including “hand gestures observed as potential ‘signals’ near Charlie at the time of his assassination.”

The “hands signal” theory has gained significant attention online, with some videos amassing over 2 million views. However, Blake Marnell, known as Brick Suit on X, clarified that the individual allegedly associated with the signals was Charlie’s friend and Christian author Frank Turek. Patel reiterated the FBI’s dedication to ensuring a thorough and exhaustive examination of all aspects of the case.

The investigation is exploring critical details such as the location of the shot, the possibility of accomplices, a text message confession, Discord chats, bullet impact analysis, weapon transportation methods, and visitors to the alleged shooter’s residence in the days leading up to September 10, 2025. While some information has been disclosed, Patel emphasized that not all findings can be shared publicly immediately to preserve the integrity of the case.

Regarding claims about a plane allegedly disabling its transponder near the assassination site, Patel addressed rumors by stating that interviews with the pilot and FAA consultations confirmed the transponder was not turned off. He attributed the flight data gap to incomplete coverage in rural areas. The FBI expressed mourning for Kirk’s death, pledging to continue the investigation until all questions are resolved.
