A federal judge has sentenced Jasveen Sangha, known as the Ketamine Queen, to 15 years in prison for selling ketamine to former “Friends” star Matthew Perry that led to his fatal overdose.
Sangha, who pleaded guilty to the charge, was found responsible for supplying the drug that caused Perry’s death in 2023. During sentencing, she stated: “These were not mistakes. They were horrible decisions,” which “shattered people’s lives and the lives of their family and friends.” The judge noted Sangha is the only defendant among five who pleaded guilty to directly causing Perry’s death and that her prison term will likely be longer than all others combined.
Sangha described she wears her shame “like a jacket” during the hearing, reflecting her acknowledgment in court that her actions led to Perry’s overdose. Prosecutors identified her as operating an elaborate drug operation catering to high-end clients to sustain a jet-setting lifestyle.
Additionally, Salvador Plasencia, 44, a former physician known as “Dr. P,” was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for repeatedly supplying ketamine to Perry despite knowing his well-documented history of drug addiction and that Perry’s personal assistant administered the drugs without medical training or supervision. Plasencia surrendered his California medical license in September 2025 after running a Calabasas-based urgent-care clinic. Prosecutors stated he was aware of ketamine’s risks, including sedation and potential abuse, and believed patients should be monitored by a physician during treatment.
Court documents reveal Plasencia introduced Perry to a patient on September 30, 2023, who described him as “a high profile person” willing to pay “cash and lots of thousands” for ketamine treatment.
