A 22-year-old man has been arrested in New Hampshire for allegedly plotting to assassinate Republican Governor Kelly Ayotte using homemade pipe bombs, according to court documents and law enforcement reports.
Tristan Alexander Anderson of Merrimack County was taken into custody on August 28 after a roommate reported his threatening messages on Snapchat. Police allege Anderson bragged about his plans to kill Ayotte, a Republican former senator, and referenced an “Israel Deep State” in online exchanges. He also made antisemitic remarks, including a message stating, “These Jew feds need to f—— die,” as per a probable cause statement.
Anderson allegedly shared details of his alleged plot with a woman on Snapchat, showing her metal tubes, nuts, and bolts he planned to use for pipe bombs. He reportedly owned guns and had disassembled fireworks to create explosive materials. Authorities stated he threatened to “target the NH Mayor Kelly ayott” with a “weapon of mass destruction.”
The suspect remains in custody without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on November 20. His arrest occurred before the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk, though authorities confirmed he was never able to execute his plans.
The case highlights concerns over online radicalization and violent rhetoric, with investigators noting Anderson’s disturbing social media activity and erratic behavior.
