Tyler Robinson, the individual suspected of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk, is currently under suicide watch at a Utah jail following his arrest. Authorities confirmed Robinson was placed in the facility’s Special Housing Unit to ensure close monitoring due to concerns over his mental state.

Utah County Sheriff’s officials stated Robinson will remain on “special watch” for several days until cleared by mental health professionals. The decision follows reports that Robinson threatened to kill himself after being taken into custody. A sheriff’s statement explained the measure is standard for individuals with potential behavioral risks, including suicidal remarks or violent tendencies.

FBI analyst Dan Bongino confirmed Robinson’s suicide watch status during a discussion with Megyn Kelly, noting investigators are working to analyze his phone as he remains uncooperative. While Robinson has not directly confessed to the killing, authorities allege he admitted to the crime on a Discord server.

The investigation continues as law enforcement seeks clarity on the circumstances surrounding Kirk’s death.
