Three individuals, including a six-year-old boy, were hospitalized after a 37-year-old woman drove her minivan into a crowd during the Kipona Festival in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. as attendees prepared to leave the annual event celebrating Native American heritage.

Harrisburg police and Mayor Wanda Williams confirmed that the driver swerved past barricades and struck two adults and a child before speeding down five blocks, crashing into obstacles along the way. The boy was reported in critical condition, while the other victims—a wheelchair-bound woman and a city traffic engineering employee—were stable but injured.

Witnesses described police pursuing the red minivan as the driver allegedly acted erratically. The woman, identified as wearing a T-shirt reading “Mom Son Team,” was arrested at the scene. Vendors and attendees were in the process of dismantling their stalls when the crash occurred, creating a chaotic environment.

A local business, Anna Rose Bakery & Coffee Shop, shared on social media that staff members witnessed the incident and would be closing temporarily to process the trauma. No further details about the driver’s intent or motives were immediately disclosed.
