Trump-endorsed Clay Fuller has won the special election in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District to replace former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. Fuller defeated Democrat Shawn Harris, securing the seat in a Republican stronghold.

Fuller stated: “The Democrat Party poured millions of dollars into this campaign. Poured lies into this campaign. But they can’t beat Donald Trump.”

The vacant seat was left by Greene, who resigned from Congress at the beginning of January following a public falling out with President Trump. The special election was critical for Republicans, who hold a razor-thin 218–214 majority in the House.

Fuller, a local district attorney and former Air Force lieutenant colonel with service in the Air National Guard since 2009, credited Trump’s influence as pivotal to his victory. With approximately 57 percent of votes counted by about 92 percent of the total ballots cast, Fuller maintained a lead of 57 percent to 43 percent over Harris.

The district, which covers northwest Georgia and has never been represented by a Democrat, is considered one of the most conservative regions in the state.
