Turkish officials confirm an attack on a Russian-flagged tanker carrying sunflower oil in the Black Sea. The incident occurred approximately 80 miles (120km) from Turkey’s coast, where the vessel was reportedly proceeding under its own power without seeking assistance.

Earlier this week, Russia had accused Ukrainian authorities of conducting “terrorist attacks” against commercial ships in the region. This latest attack on the MIDVOLGA-2 tanker adds to previous incidents involving sea drones off Turkey’s shores.
