A family night at the Wisconsin State Fair turned violent as a mob descended on fairgrounds Sunday evening, sending parents and children running for safety. Video footage captured groups fighting near ride areas, individuals being knocked to the pavement, and crowds scrambling in panic.
Police reported one officer was punched in the face during the disturbances. A security team member also sustained injuries, though officials confirmed no fairgoer suffered serious harm. Seven people were arrested in connection with the incidents.
Wisconsin State Fair officials stated that the violence erupted during the event’s final hours and was isolated to an otherwise safe 11-day festival. They described the behavior as unacceptable and said they are reviewing security plans with law enforcement.
The fairgrounds also saw disturbances involving individuals attempting unauthorized entry and conflicts among those already present. Local police deployed mounted patrols, bicycle officers, and drone coverage to manage the situation. Authorities confirmed there were no gunshots involved in the incidents.
