The Trump White House has issued a sharp rebuke to Fox News leadership after the network abruptly terminated its longtime host, Maria Bartiromo.

Top Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro stated that the White House directly informed Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott that the network’s decision was “totally unacceptable.” Navarro made the remarks during a Tuesday appearance on Newsmax.

The dispute originated last week when Fox News parted ways with Bartiromo, following reports that she had shared internal editorial directives with White House officials.

Navarro criticized the network’s actions, saying: “She just went out and fired Maria Bartiromo… And that place is out of control.”

The exchange has sparked online discussions, with Navarro recently publishing an op-ed accusing Fox News of “suppressing MAGA news” and implementing a “shadow ban” on several of President Trump’s surrogates.

Navarro also defended Bartiromo, the network’s ousted host and long-time Trump ally, while addressing his involvement in the controversy.

The ongoing tension between Fox News and the White House stems from their deepening disagreement over coverage of Trump’s election fraud claims, which have been a recurring topic since mid-July when the president delivered a prime-time speech highlighting alleged vulnerabilities in the electoral process, including purported interference by China.
