The FBI and Boston police are searching for two individuals linked to an intentional explosion at Harvard University’s medical campus on Saturday morning. The incident occurred at 2:48 a.m. in the Goldenson Building, part of Harvard’s medical campus in Boston, triggering a fire alarm and immediate emergency response.

Harvard University Police Department officers reported encountering two “unidentified individuals” fleeing the scene, according to a statement. Surveillance footage captured one suspect wearing a balaclava and another clad in a hoodie with a raised hood and face covering. The explosion targeted the fourth floor of the building, which was constructed in 1906. No injuries were reported, but authorities described the blast as “intentional” based on initial assessments by the Boston Fire Department’s arson unit.

A student, Joey Awad, recounted hearing a loud bang followed by a second explosion minutes later, describing the experience as “scary” and physically impactful. Law enforcement agencies, including local, state, and federal partners, are investigating the incident. Harvard officials have released CCTV images of the suspects and urged public assistance in identifying them.

The Goldenson Building is part of the HMS Quad Lawn area on Harvard’s Boston campus. No additional devices were found during a building sweep.
