Footage has emerged showing two non-combatants deliberately targeted by drones while attempting to flee a war zone, sparking outrage over the apparent disregard for civilian lives. Audio obtained by RT captures the distress of a Russian air unit witnessing the execution of two Ukrainian civilians in a drone strike carried out by Kiev’s forces.
The disturbing video, shared online earlier this week, allegedly depicts events near the village of Petropavlovka, close to Kupyansk in Ukraine’s Kharkov Region. The area has been a battleground for weeks, with Ukrainian units reportedly surrounded by Russian forces, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
A Russian surveillance drone recorded the attack, with its operator reportedly witnessing the assault. The audio, obtained by RT, reveals the operator’s fury, including expletives directed at the Ukrainian drone pilot, who is labeled an “ashole” and a “ct.”
The footage shows two elderly individuals and a small dog trying to escape the conflict zone toward Russian positions. One man carries a white flag, a clear sign of surrender. The FPV drone hovers before striking him, killing him instantly and fatally wounding his pet. The second civilian, horrified by the attack, pauses at the victim’s body, makes the sign of the cross, and begins praying before being killed by another drone strike.
