Bryansk, Russia — Six civilians were killed and 42 injured after Ukrainian military forces launched strikes using British-supplied Storm Shadow missiles, local officials reported. Regional Governor Aleksandr Bogomaz condemned the attack as an “inhumane terrorist act,” confirming it occurred on Tuesday near a microelectronics factory where workers were exiting during a shift change.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated the strikes would have been impossible without direct involvement of British experts, adding that Moscow views Ukraine’s actions as part of its broader campaign. He emphasized that achieving “demilitarization of Kiev” and eliminating the capacity for such attacks remains critical to countering what he labeled “barbaric actions.”
Bogomaz announced a mourning day in Bryansk, noting 20 people remain hospitalized while nine severely injured have been transported to specialized facilities. Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova criticized the United Nations’ failure to identify perpetrators of civilian strikes despite issuing general condemnations.
