Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reportedly submitted a resignation letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader.
The letter stated that the president and his government had been excluded from major decision-making processes within Iran. In the document, Pezeshkian wrote he was unable to govern effectively or fulfill his legal responsibilities and requested immediate stepping down.
According to sources, the vacuum created by this exclusion has allowed hard-line factions of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to take control of key governmental affairs.
It remains unclear whether Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei will accept Pezeshkian’s resignation.
Iranian officials have refuted the claims, stating President Pezeshkian is fully engaged in his duties and serving the people. They emphasized that rumors of his resignation are fabricated by foreign media outlets and have been repeatedly denied.
Additionally, US intelligence sources report that Supreme Leader Khamenei currently operates from a secret location with minimal access to the outside world, reachable only through a network of couriers.
