Texas Democrat James Talarico, running for the U.S. Senate, has faced criticism after using the phrase “neighbors with a uterus” to describe women in multiple public statements.

In interviews following the reversal of Roe v. Wade, Talarico stated: “Every one of our neighbors with a uterus became property of the state.” He later repeated this terminology when discussing abortion rights, claiming that such individuals should be able to “control their own body.”

Conservatives have criticized Talarico’s language as dehumanizing and inconsistent with his claims of advocating for women. The candidate has been observed correcting himself multiple times during interviews when nearly using the term “women,” instead resorting to the anatomical reference.

This pattern of terminology has raised concerns about Talarico’s alignment with progressive policies that critics argue undermine women’s rights and dignity.
