A Mormon church in Grand Blanc, Michigan, was set ablaze following an active shooter situation early this morning. The incident occurred when a 40-year-old man drove his vehicle into the front doors of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints during a service. After crashing through the entrance, he opened fire inside, injuring nine people and killing one.

Witnesses reported that the attacker’s truck became lodged against the side of the building, though authorities confirmed the point of entry was the main doors. Firefighters responded to the resulting blaze, which spread rapidly through the structure. Police stated the shooter intentionally started the fire before being killed by officers. Additional victims are expected to be found once it is safe to enter the building.

The attack took place in a suburb of Flint, approximately an hour north of Detroit. No official motive has been released, but the incident has sparked immediate concern over violence targeting places of worship.
