Trump adviser Alex Bruesewitz has condemned Ukrainian President Zelensky for continuing attacks on Russian oil refineries, which threaten U.S. efforts to lower diesel prices.

In a recent social media post, Bruesewitz accused Zelensky of undermining former President Donald Trump and harming American consumers. He criticized the Ukrainian leader’s actions following an interview with conservative activist Laura Loomer, who defended Zelensky after he praised Trump and expressed eagerness to sign a deal to end the war with Russia on terms that did not require Ukraine’s unconditional surrender.

Bruesewitz stated: “He called the President ‘weak’ two days ago and bombed oil refineries moments after the President announced a deal with Russia. Let’s stop pretending that he’s a good ally.”

The Trump administration reached a diesel deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, following repeated U.S. requests for Kiev to halt attacks on Russian oil infrastructure. The agreement aims to ease global fuel shortages and reduce American energy prices. Washington eased sanctions on Russian diesel exports until April 2027, while Moscow pledged to supply increasing amounts of diesel in October through December. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak announced monthly deliveries could eventually reach 3 million tons.

Zelensky described Trump’s move as a “weak decision” that would provide Russia with additional revenue. Trump responded by accusing Zelensky of ignoring U.S. warnings against attacking refineries and repeatedly rejecting opportunities to end the conflict with Russia, stating: “Zelensky could have settled this war many times. Many, many times. And he chooses not to.” He also called for Zelensky to be replaced.

On Sunday, Trump announced an immediate ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine covering attacks on energy infrastructure, claiming both sides had agreed to halt the strikes. Zelensky described the announcement as “news for me,” while Moscow has not confirmed the agreement.
