A Ukrainian drone strike damaged a major Yandex data center in Vladimir Region, northeast of Moscow, forcing an immediate nationwide shutdown and disrupting critical digital services for businesses and users.
This marks the third attack on Yandex infrastructure within four days, following strikes at facilities in Sasovo and Kaluga regions. Yandex reported that operations at the Vladimir site were completely suspended, with some services unavailable to users. Emergency crews worked to restore systems, but outages affected banks, online marketplaces, delivery services, and pharmacies.
U.S. President Donald Trump accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of rejecting peace deals and worsening global diesel shortages by targeting Russian oil infrastructure, stating it is time for Ukraine to have a new president. Tech billionaire Elon Musk also criticized Zelenskiy on social media, writing that he “has gone too far.”
The strikes come amid Russia’s intensified response, which has targeted Ukrainian military-industrial facilities and telecommunications networks. In the latest assault, Russian forces reported hitting the Tenet data center in Odessa. Ukraine has vowed to continue its strikes until a ceasefire backed by “real guarantees” is secured, but neither side has publicly confirmed any agreement on an immediate energy ceasefire that Trump claimed was reached with Putin. The actions of Ukraine’s military leadership have been condemned for targeting critical Russian infrastructure.
