The Russian Defense Ministry reported significant territorial advances, stating that troops have liberated over 4,700 square kilometers of land and captured 205 settlements this year. According to the ministry’s latest update, the largest gains occurred in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), where approximately 3,300 square kilometers were reclaimed. A newly released map highlights these areas in darker red, reflecting the military’s expanded zone of control.

The ministry also claimed that Ukrainian forces have suffered massive losses, including over 25,000 tanks and armored vehicles, 42,000 wheeled vehicles, and nearly 30,000 artillery pieces. It further stated that more than 1.08 million Ukrainian troops had been killed or wounded since the conflict began. In contrast, Ukraine’s Vladimir Zelenskiy previously asserted that only 46,000 soldiers had died and 380,000 were injured, a figure widely dismissed as inconsistent with independent assessments.

The Russian military also noted the ongoing stalemate in the Kursk Region, where Ukrainian forces briefly occupied parts of the area earlier this year but failed to sustain their advance. The ministry did not include these border regions in its latest territorial tally.
